Switching from Trello / Asana

A Trello / Asana alternative for project knowledge and decisions

Task boards show what is due. This shows why you decided what you decided, what you discussed in meetings, and where the project knowledge actually lives.

Trello / Asana vs KNOW ME - SHOW ME

What it tracks

Tasks, due dates, assignees and board columns.

Decisions, meeting notes, research, risks and context — filed by project and queryable as one body of work.

Finding project history

Search cards and comments; context is scattered.

Ask the whole PROJECT folder: what did we decide, what changed, what risks came up, what still needs research.

Knowledge capture

Attachments and comments on cards.

Voice, photo or text entries with automatic transcription and OCR, filed by project and tied to sources.

Reporting

Dashboards and exports of task status.

Generate a project report or decision log from your entries, export as Word or PDF.

Privacy

Board-level permissions.

Entry-by-entry spaces. Private thoughts stay private; shared entries go only to the people you choose.

Legacy

Nothing built in.

Project folders become part of your legacy: heirs and successors can ask the AI version of you what you knew.

How to export from Trello / Asana and import here

  1. In Trello, open a board, choose ••• → Share, Print, and Export → Export JSON. In Asana, use the CSV export from a project.
  2. Save the file, then sign in here and open IMPORT MY OLD JOURNAL from SITE TOOLS.
  3. Choose the plain text / generic source or CSV option and upload the export.
  4. Review the parsed entries, group them into a PROJECT folder, and start asking project questions.

Not a task manager — a project memory

KNOW ME - SHOW ME does not replace Trello or Asana for daily task tracking. It sits underneath them as the place where the reasoning, research and decisions live. When someone asks why a decision was made six months ago, the answer is here — not buried in a closed card.

Common questions

Should I stop using Trello or Asana?

No. Use them for tasks and deadlines. Use this for the thinking, notes and sources that explain the tasks.
